Distributing a Game

[edit] Which files to give?
If you are giving your game to people who already have the OHRRPGCE, then all you need to give them is your RPG file. You can put it zip archive to save space.
If you want anyone to be able to play your game, you can also include GAME.EXE and LICENSE-binary.txt
You can rename a copy of game.exe to have the same name as your RPG file, so that your game will be started automatically when it is run.
You may also want to write your own README.txt file.
If you want to share your script file you can include it too, but people do not need your script file to be able to play your game.
[edit] Step-by-Step Instructions
[edit] Viewing file extensions
By default, Windows hides file extensions. Packaging your game will be easier if you can see the types of the files you are working with.
First go to the View menu and pick Folder Options
When the Folder Options control panel appears, go to the View tab and uncheck "Hide Extensions for known file types"
Now the file extensions for all your files will be visible.
[edit] Renaming a copy of GAME.exe
Right click on your copy of game.exe and pick Rename. Then give it the same name as your RPG file.
[edit] Creating a ZIP file
Now select all the files you are going to to put in your zip file.
Right click on one of the selected files and from the Send To menu, choose "Compressed (zip) Folder"
[edit] Uploading Your Game
You can upload your zip file to an OHRRPGCE Community site, or any website for game uploads.
